1913-1938 Buffalo Nickel Mintages

Buffalo Nickel mintageBuffalo Nickels were produced between the years 1913 and 1938 inclusive. The series remains one of the most popular within United States coinage due to the uniquely American subjects which appear on the obverse and reverse. During the course of the series, the mintages ranged from a low of 970,000 pieces to a high of more than 100 million.

In lower circulated grades, collecting the entire series of Buffalo Nickels without varieties is possible for the average collector. This can be an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Assembling a collection in mint state grades, including varieties is a more daunting task.
